We are currently seeking volunteers to join our Board of Directors in June of 2020. Our Board of Directors serves in a governance capacity, working directly with our Executive Director. The Board is comprised of between 9 to 12 dedicated individuals from across a variety of professional and service sectors.
Anyone with passion, commitment to our mandate and time and energy to assist in our work is welcome to apply but we are specifically seeking board members with the following backgrounds:
- Financial expertise
- Human Resource expertise
- Non-profit governance experience
- In our commitment to truth and reconciliation we are seeking candidates to provide Indigenous peoples perspective, and share their knowledge and learnings with the board and agency so that these learning can be incorporated into our work.
Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings from September through to June, participate in one committee and to attend the Annual General Meeting in June. A board member can expect to spend 3 – 4 hours per month during the months of September through June on board or committee activities.
Nominations to the board of directors are presented by a slate of nominees at the Annual General Meeting in June of each year.
